StoneX has accquired a precious metals processing company in West Bromwich which specialises in the recovery and recycling of precious metals, with expertise in extracting silver, gold, platinum and palladium from various materials including photographic, electronics and industrial waste. The integration of the two companies will add refining capabilities to the StoneX Global Metals business and create opportunities for us to offer multiple products across the market.

Job Purpose and Responsibilities

OVERVIEW


We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead and coordinate the day-to-day maintenance activities across our site. This is a practical, on-the-floor leadership role, perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic technical environment and enjoys being close to the action. You will take ownership of the maintenance schedule, assist in troubleshooting equipment issues, and directly influence plant performance.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead the day-to-day maintenance team to deliver planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Act as first-line technical support for breakdowns and escalate complex issues.
  • Drive high standards of maintenance quality, safety, and performance on shift.
  • Schedule and allocate daily maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
  • Gives hands on assistance to maintenance teams with diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in delivering KPIs and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure spare parts, tools, and maintenance records are up to date and well-managed.
  • Train and mentor technicians and new team members.
  • Carry out any resonable request or requirement of the role.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Strong mechanical or electrical background with relevant technical qualification.
  • Hands-on maintenance experience in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices and working within compliance frameworks.
  • Multi-skilled engineer (electrical & mechanical).
  • Experience with CMMS or similar maintenance systems.
